Foodverzo Street Food was crowned champion of 'Zaragoza Brava 2025' after defeating 11 other establishments in the grand finale held this morning at the Aura restaurant complex. Bar Cervino also won the award for best quality and cooking of the potato; El Picadillo for best sauce; and Algo pasa con Mery for best presentation.
Foodverzo Street Food —Albareda, 3, Zaragoza— is the winner of the second edition of 'Zaragoza Brava', the patatas bravas contest organized by The Zaragozan Gastronome. In addition, the Bar Cervino —Ainzón, 18, Zaragoza— has won the award for the best quality and cooking of potatoes; The Mincemeat —Manifestación, 13, Zaragoza— has made the best brava sauce and Something's wrong with Mery —Aragón, 2, Villanueva de Gállego— has been distinguished for the best presentation of the ration.

This was decided this morning at the Brasserie of the Aura hotel complex by a jury composed of sponsors and collaborators of the second edition of 'Zaragoza Brava', journalists and food influencers, and the finalists themselves, who became both judges and participants in evaluating their competitors. For this reason, the tasting of the finalist proposals was done blind.
After drawing lots to identify each establishment and their order of participation, the finalists entered the kitchens four by four to prepare their proposals. Once the servings were arranged on the tables, identified only by a number, the more than twenty judges—including finalists, journalists, collaborators, and sponsors—went around the tables, tasting the patatas bravas and evaluating the quality and cooking quality of the potatoes, the flavor of the brava sauce, and the presentation of each serving.
After collecting the votes, while the organizers carried out the counting, participants and guests enjoyed the best patatas bravas in Zaragoza, accompanied by Ambar beers, wines from Bodegas LAUS, and Casa Valdepablo vermouth.
The restaurateurs and the rest of the judges agreed, giving the highest score to Patatas Bravas No. 7, which turned out to be the ones from Foodverzo Street Food. "We're very happy, as we've been working for a long time to create these Patatas Bravas, with an original cut, a perfect texture, an addictive spicy sauce, and the sweet touch of honey aioli," said Luigi Rubertone, manager of the establishment that opened a year and a half ago on Calle Albareda in Zaragoza.
Awards ceremony
Miguel Ángel Vicente, director of The Zaragozan Gastronome, acted as master of ceremonies at the awards ceremony, which began with the award for the best quality and cooking of potatoes, presented by Javier Mené, of Fruits Javier Mené, to the Bar Cervino, a veteran who changed direction a few months ago.
Angel Campo, of Amber Beers, was in charge of presenting the award for the best presentation to the bar Something's wrong with Mery, opened just two and a half months ago in Villanueva de Gállego.
César Colliga, technical director of the DOP Sierra del Moncayo Oil, EVOO with which the potatoes were cooked, has presented the award for the best brava sauce, which has gone to The Mincemeat, another classic restaurant in Zaragoza's hospitality industry that has just changed management. All of them were presented with a ceramic plate from Muel.

Finally, the director of El Gastrónomo Zaragozano called the rest of the finalists—El Chaflán, Bar Cheff Cómodo, Café Chicago, O'Fogar, El Simo, Casa Darío, Mai Tai, and La Jamada del Tubo—"who, having reached this final, can now be considered winners, as the level has been very high," he commented, to present them with their Muel ceramic plate.
