
The 10 Ternasco de Aragón sandwiches that will compete on Monday to be the best in their province and in Aragon in a live final can be enjoyed until June 21st
The Route of the Paquito de Ternasco de Aragón, The initiative, launched by its Regulatory Council in collaboration with the interprofessional organization INTEROVIC, is nearing its end. And the results are now known. 10 finalists who will compete on June 22nd to be the best in their province and in Aragon at the Best Paquito de Ternasco de Aragon Awards 2026.
A team of selected judges has visited and tasted the 70 paquitos that were up for the prize out of the 74 total, evaluating different aspects such as the bread, the presentation, the balance of ingredients and the correct cooking and prominence of the flavor of the Ternasco de Aragón in the paquito.
The 10 with the highest scores will cook and present their proposals at the end before a professional jury, chaired by Javier Robles, Master of Lamb and president of the Association of Chefs of Aragon.
In addition to Javier, the jury panel will be completed by: Ana Belén Asensio, co-owner of the Bocatería Cuéntame in Utebo (several times winners of the Ternasco de Aragón sandwich competitions); Pepe Puyuelo, president of the Association of Sommeliers of Aragon; Esther Barroso, Vice-president of the Association of Chefs of Aragon and cooking teacher at the IES Pedro de Luna; and Miguel Ruiz @takoyaki, a well-known Aragonese gastronomic influencer.
The finalists from the province of Huesca are: Gastrobar El Perdido, in Jaca; Aragonia Tavern, Ontiñena and Huesca stew, in the capital of Huesca.



The finalists from the province of Teruel are: Inspira Delice, in Valderrobres; The Little Corner of Boltaña, of Alcañiz and The Solfa Factory, in Beceite.



Finally Pome, Kempape, La Social and Ambigú (The Forum), the four establishments in the capital, represent the province of Zaragoza.
74 little pieces of Ternasco de Aragón lamb in 22 Aragonese towns
It is noteworthy that the 10 highest-rated establishments are located in 7 different towns, out of the 22 towns where at least one of the participants was located.
