Yesterday, June 16, World Tapas Day, it was presented GastroTapas 2026, The Tapas Gastronomic Days in Zaragoza Restaurants. The grand opening of the eighth edition of the conferences brought together in the Puerta Cinegia Market to restaurateurs, institutions and media to raise a toast to what unites all of Spain around a bar or a table: the lid. The sessions will continue until June 28 with the participation of 33 establishments from Zaragoza and the surrounding province, offering more than 35 gastronomic options.
A tribute with a lid in hand
The presentation of GastroTapas 2026 was a celebration, a collective toast to tapas as a cultural, social, and gastronomic expression. Because tapas are not just food: they are encounters, conversations, and our most personal way of being together. The president of Horeca Restaurants Zaragoza, José María Lasheras, He opened the event with a few words that focused on the cultural value of the tapa, in his nomination to be a World Heritage Site and in the role of the hospitality as a driving force for the city: “Tapas are the snack that tastes most like Spain. There is no other country in the world that has transformed something as simple as a piece of bread with something on top into a social act, a way of life, a sign of identity. Today, on its World Day, from Zaragoza, we want to pay tribute to that tradition that we all share and that makes our restaurants something unique.”.

Also participating in the event were Sara Fernández, Councillor for Culture, Education and Tourism of the Zaragoza City Council, and Luis Biendicho, Minister of Environment and Tourism of the Government of Aragon, endorsing the institutional support for a series of events that position Zaragoza as a gastronomic benchmark and a top-tier tourist destination.

From June 16 to 28, 33 establishments in Zaragoza and province They will offer their proposals to €5.50 for the GastroTapa + drink (Ambar beer, Coca-Cola or Campo de Borja DO wine included in the price), and some also in format GastroTapas Menu starting from €25.

Three of the participating establishments are expanding their offerings with a GastroTapas Menu, A more complete gastronomic experience combining several dishes with a drink included at a fixed price starting from €25.
